A name that breathes
Most studios choose names that project certainty strong nouns, sharp acronyms, the illusion of arrival. We chose the opposite. Work in Progress is an admission and an invitation: that creativity is never finished, that the best ideas are still forming, and that a studio worth working with is one that keeps learning.
The origin of the idea
The phrase came up during one of our earliest brainstorming sessions during my studies back in 2018, scrawled at the top of a whiteboard. Someone joked that we should just call ourselves that. Nobody laughed. Two weeks later, it was our official name.
What it means in practice
We treat every project as an ongoing conversation, not a deliverable to be closed
We document our process openly including the dead ends and wrong turns
We never present first drafts as final answers
We actively seek feedback at every stage, not just the end
The competitive advantage of staying unfinished
In an industry obsessed with polish, being openly in-progress is a differentiator. Clients come to us not for a finished product but for a thinking partner. And thinking partners, by definition, are always in the middle of something.
